Perhaps the most asked question I get is, what do I need to eat?  It's a fairly simplistic equation but the one question I never get asked is "when" to eat.

Your diet is all about choices, just like anything else in life, when it's meal time you make a decision to eat a lot, eat a little, eat bad things, or eat good things.

We all know the basics:  Fruits and vegetables are good, lots of salt and sugar are bad.

But what about when?  If you are strength training, you should consume essential amino acids (found in animal protein or supplement form) within an hour post workout to assist in the repair of muscle tissue.

Another "when" tip is never eat after 7pm.  Why?  At the end of the day your bodys systems begin to slow down their processes because you are tired.  You WILL NOT burn off the food you eat after 7.  Think about it, how active are you at that time of night?

As Americans, we have been programmed to think that dinner is the "glory" meal.  We go out to dinner, we have dinner, it's a social and public forum that's promoted as an event rather than a meal.

If you want better results out of your session, turn the American meal plan on it's head, breakfast is the largest meal of the day, and dinner is the absolute smallest.  Try this for 6 weeks, and I guarantee you see results.
